The Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU) of the Polytechnic University of Tirana has been established by a decision of PUT Academic Senate dated 26.03.2009, depends on PUT Rector.
IQAU operates under Law no. 80/2015 dated 22.07.2015 "On Higher Education and Research in Higher Education Institutions in the Republic of Albania".
 
Structural organization of quality assurance in PUT

1. PUT is responsible for providing internal quality assurance (below quality assurance) in all organizational units. The Quality Network has the responsibility of continuously improving and developing PUT's quality system based on the Higher Education Quality Code and the      European guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area.
2. The Quality Network consists of the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU), under the PUT and Quality Assurance Units (QAU) in each faculty of PUT.
3. IQAU designs institutional quality standards based on the Higher Education Quality Code. These standards are approved by Academic Senate of the Polytechnic University of Tirana.
4. IQAU proposes to the PUT Rectorate the draft budget necessary for the operation and continuous improvement of the quality system. These funds ensure the functioning of the Quality Network, internal and external evaluation, training, consultancy and external expertise,    publications, information and promotional activities, pilot projects, creation and updating of electronic data storage and management systems, logistics and any other element provided for in the Quality Assurance Regulation.
 
The Internal Quality Assurance Unit establishes a cooperative relationship with the deans, institute directors, study program managers, departmental managers and PUT student organizations.
